Ukraine uses flame thrower drone to burn Russians out of tree line: video

Intense video has captured the moment Ukrainian forces apparently unleashed a “flamethrower” drone to burn out Russian troops from a tree line.

The clip, posted on Telegram by Ukraine’s 108th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade, showed the FPV drone blasting out flames where the Russian forces were believed to be positioned.

Large plumes of thick smoke could be seen billowing from the tree line as the drone obliterated the area, according to the footage.

It wasn’t immediately clear where, or when, the fiery video was shot.

Ukrainian military bloggers claimed on social media that the drone was spewing out thermite during the onslaught.

Thermite — a mix of metal powder and metal oxide — has become a favored explosive among the Ukrainian side during the ongoing war.

The incendiary, which can burn at roughly 4,000 degrees Fahrenheit, can sear through metal and concrete.

It has been used in the past to obliterate Russian vehicles.

The footage, which couldn’t be immediately verified, emerged after Ukraine launched a massive 158-drone barrage against Russia on Sunday — sparking a large fire at a major oil refinery in Moscow.

The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the widespread attack, which is one of the largest from Kyiv since the war began, with 15 regions struck, but insisted that all drones were intercepted.

The debris from two drones shot down over Moscow crashed into a Gazprom oil refinery, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.

The air attack came after Kyiv vowed to retaliate over Russia’s own large missile and drone barrage last week, which fired more than 200 projectiles at half of Ukraine’s regions.
