A pilot and passenger narrowly avoided tragedy when a small plane nosedived onto a busy road in the UK, their flight club said.

Both occupants sat in the cockpit looking stunned just moments after the aircraft smashed into the A419  in Gloucestershire at 4:45 Tuesday afternoon, photos of the scene showed.

One of the plane’s wings snapped off on impact, while debris was scattered across the roadway and motorists lined up behind the wreck.

Drivers immediately got out to help the pilot and passenger, who were spotted shimmying out of the fractured plane with the help of passersby.

The plane belonged to the Cotswold Gliding Club, where both men are members, spokesperson Chris Cooper told the Telegraph.

“Two members of the Cotswold Gliding Club were taken to hospital with minor injuries to be checked on after an incident involving one of the club’s motorized gliders,” Cooper said.

The crash is under investigation by the Air Accidents Investigations Branch, he said.

The Cotswold Gliding Club is one of the largest in the country, with about 150 members, per its website.

First responders at the scene included an air ambulance from the Great Western Air Ambulance, the Telegraph added.

The small plane appeared to have “stalled and nosedived” before crashing, one eyewitness told Gloucestershire Live.

No vehicles on the ground were damaged in the crash, authorities said, though the road was closed for over five hours after authorities cleared up the mess.

The Cotswold Gliding Club did not respond to The Post’s request for an update on the pilot and passenger’s conditions.
