Week 2 NFL Power Rankings are here, bringing a fresh wave of overreactions. Every year, coaches and players remind us that past events and media predictions don’t matter—it’s all about the present. Thus, all opening game winners occupy the top 16 spots, and the losers fill the bottom 16. Here’s a summary of how the top teams fared:

  1. Kansas City Chiefs (1-0):

    • Last week: 1
    • Thursday: Beat Baltimore Ravens 27-20
    • Highlight: Rookie Xavier Worthy made an impression with 68 yards and two touchdowns. Several Chiefs players contributed, though key player Travis Kelce had a quiet game with just 34 yards.
    • Up next: vs. Bengals
  2. San Francisco 49ers (1-0):

    • Last week: 5
    • Monday: Beat New York Jets 32-19
    • Highlight: Despite Christian McCaffrey’s absence, Jordan Mason stepped up with 147 rushing yards. Brandon Aiyuk was quiet but isn’t a concern given the overall offensive performance.

    • Last week: 8
    • Sunday: Beat Arizona Cardinals 34-28
    • Highlight: Josh Allen threw for two touchdowns, rushed for two, and now ties Steve Young for games with multiple passing and rushing touchdowns. Nine players caught passes, with rookie Keon Coleman leading with 51 yards.

    • Last week: 4
