Angel Reese, the dynamic Chicago Sky rookie, has brilliantly responded to critics questioning her financial status. Amidst chatter about her lifestyle, the former LSU champion and the seventh overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, celebrated Reebok’s announcement of her upcoming signature shoe deal set for 2026. With a light-hearted tweet, Reese expressed her gratitude, quipping that she can now afford her bills, thank you very much.

This marks yet another success for the 22-year-old powerhouse who was Reebok’s first NIL roster signing in October 2023. Recently, Reese had stirred the pot with her candid remarks on Instagram, emphasizing that her WNBA salary isn’t her main financial stream, jesting about living beyond her means with her rookie salary of $73,439 and an $8,000 monthly rent.

Beyond her anticipated NBA earnings of $74,909 for next season, Reese’s financial portfolio shines with sponsor deals, brand collaborations, and her “Unapologetically Angel” podcast. This financial fortification extends as she joins the new Unrivaled League, offering player equity and a TNT broadcast deal.

Reese is in elite company as one of six current WNBA players with a signature shoe deal, joining giants like Caitlin Clark and Breanna Stewart. On the court, Reese concluded her rookie season with a remarkable 13.6 points average, setting records with 26 double-doubles and a 28-game streak of double-digit rebounds.

Despite these impressive achievements, Reese was second to Caitlin Clark in the WNBA Rookie of the Year race. Both players, however, were the only rookies to grace the 2024 WNBA All-Star lineup.
