A sexy Manhattan anesthesiologist whose globetrotting adventures include jaunts to Dubai and Paris and hobnobbing at parties with the likes of “Baywatch” star Pamela Anderson, claims her boss demeaned her as an “ingrate” and hit on her, she said in a lawsuit.
Randa Jaafar, 44, who regales her more than 70,000 Instagram followers with frequent posts about her jet-setting lifestyle, began working for NY Spine and Sport Rehabilitation founder Sireen Gopa in 2016 as an anesthesiologist and pain-management doctor raking in $240,000 annually.
She said she was not only underpaid and insulted by her Bronx boss, but propositioned by him, according to her Manhattan federal court gender-discrimination lawsuit.
Gopal awarded Jaafar “best costume” at an October 2018 “sexy lingerie” party he hosted, then told her the prize “was spending the night in [his] apartment (which was an invitation to have sex with Dr. Gopal),” she said in court papers.
She rejected the proposition and accused him of later making “discriminatory and abusive” remarks and “ridiculing [her] for her Instagram account criticizing her for having a lot of male followers.”
He also allegedly berated Jaafar, who did a fellowship at Cornell University, telling her, “Your Ivy League education is not impressive,” “Go do something that has actual meaning as a real doctor and then we can talk” and “Right now you are an Instagram trigger point chiropractor Dr. far as I know . . . when you become a real doctor we can talk.”
Jaafar claims the discrimination began after she complained she hadn’t been properly paid, and was dealing with staff and supply shortages.
Gopal told her she didn’t have “what it takes,” and changed her compensation, at first giving Jaafar 50% of revenue she brought into the company before cutting it back to 40%, prompting her to voice her dissatisfaction.
“Look what I give you,” he allegedly told her, according to court papers, later adding, “Can’t think of another word but ingrate.”
Things got so bad Jaafar said she was forced to quit in December 2021. She is seeking unspecified damages.
Jaafar’s Instagram posts reveal a luxe life, complete with skintight cocktail dresses, and trips to the French Riviera and Monte Carlo.
She flew to see Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump speak in East Hampton on July 29, according to her Instagram, and nearly a year earlier, posted a photo of herself in August 2023 meeting First Lady Jill Biden in Manhattan.
Gopal claimed Jaafar only filed her lawsuit because he brought her to court for opening her own business two blocks from his Manhattan location.
“She had completely deceived me,” he contended, adding the two were friends and denying discrimination allegations or that he had propositioned her.
“Absolutely not,” the doctor told The Post.
