Vice President Kamala Harris refused to give an answer Thursday when asked whether she would withhold US weapons shipments to Israel as it wages war against Hamas terrorists in Gaza.

In her first interview since replacing President Biden on the Democratic presidential ticket, Harris, 59, was asked by CNN’s Dana Bash if she would “do anything differently” than her boss as it relates to Israel’s war against Hamas – including implementing an arms embargo against the Jewish State.

Harris had her first interview on Thursday after Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 race. CNN
“Far too many innocent Palestinians have been killed, and we have got to get a deal done,” Haris said, referring to a cease-fire agreement. AP
“Let me be very clear. I’m unequivocal and unwavering in my commitment to Israel’s defense and its ability to defend itself, and that’s not going to change,” she responded, before adding, “how it does so matters.” AFP via Getty Images

In her answer, Harris did not explicitly rule out the dramatic step.

“Let me be very clear. I’m unequivocal and unwavering in my commitment to Israel’s defense and its ability to defend itself, and that’s not going to change,” she responded, before adding, “how it does so matters.”

“Far too many innocent Palestinians have been killed, and we have got to get a deal done,” she continued, referring to a cease-fire agreement.
